We have tried many anti-spam products and found Mail Washer to be the most effective at managing spam. We needed a solution that did not try to make decisions for us resulting in missing mails. With Mail Washer you stay in Control. Mail Washer works by downloading only the headers (like the titles) of incoming mail to a special preview window where they are presorted for you. You build lists of allowed or friendly email recipients based on their address or domain over time. These are automatically given a green light. Other mail is classified for you based on known spam footprints and spam lists that Mail Washer consults.
The results is a sorted list with those identified as known spam ticked ready for deletion. You can quickly scan the list examining the doubtful email also ticked ready for deletion and if you see any you want to allow you simply un-tick them. Then press the process mail button and the mail is deleted on the server before it reaches your inbox.

The best thing is Mail Washer has a built in learning capability. The more you use it the smarter it gets and identifying between what you consider spam and legitimate emails. You can also do a lot of manually configuration creating your own filters. We have found just using its default configuration has worked for us.
